St Mary's Parish   Alpha 2025

St Mary's Alpha 2025 is now well underway, and registration is closed.

We expect to offer Alpha again in 2026.

The good as well as the hard experiences of life can bring up questions for us such as 
   What’s the purpose of my life?
   Am I actually happy?
   What if there was more to God than I think?
   How can I change?
   How can I find more direction in life?

These are great questions to ask!
They’re also big questions, and it can be hard to find the time or the place to consider these questions and to find answers. 
That's where Alpha can help!

Alpha provides a safe and welcoming space in which to explore the big questions of life, especially in the context of the "good news" (gospel) of Jesus.

When and where?

When: Our Alpha Program began on 23 July and is now underway, meeting each Wednesday from 7.00 to 9.00 pm until 24 September.
Where: St Mary's Parish Centre, in the Hibernian Room (downstairs), 150 Yarra Street, Geelong.

What to expect?

Each session has three key ingredients:
1. connect over a meal (which is provided),
2. watch a video exploring the big issues of life and faith, unpacking the basics of Christian belief, and
3. discuss the video presentation in a small group, hearing from others about their own perspectives and experiences in an honest, friendly, open and safe environment.

It’ll be a great chance to connect with others interested in exploring the big questions of life and in nurturing their faith.
And there is no cost! This is all free!

Who is Alpha for?

Alpha is open to all those over 18 (whether you're 22, 30, 45 or 78 – you are welcome!) and Alpha isn’t just for Catholics – it’s for everyone!

If you’re at uni, married, single, retired, working, or if you have hopes, questions or doubts about faith, life and meaning – Alpha is for you!
If you’re looking for purpose or direction in your life – Alpha is for you.
And if you want to reconnect and refresh your faith, Alpha is also for you!
