Mass Times 

The Basilica is open for Sunday Masses this weekend.

Saturday Vigil (June 19) - 6.00pm; 

Sunday Masses (June 20) 7.30am; 9.30am; 11.00am and Polish Mass 12.30pm.

  • Religious gatherings and ceremonies:
  • Permitted for up to 300 people per venue, including no more than 150 indoors, density quotient of 1 person per 4 sqm applies.
  • Please arrive early to Mass, due to the limit put on attendance numbers we will be close the front doors at the beginning of Sunday Mass if this quota is filled.

 

WEEKDAY MASSES:  (TUESDAY - SATURDAY) 10.00am

The Basilica will be open from 9.00am until 11.00am on each of these days. This is to allow time for a prayerful visit prior to Mass, or for a short time after Mass has concluded.

You are not required to book your place at any of our Masses, but we ask you to please check in. There will be   QR code registration (and a manual sign in sheet if required) at the entry point in the Narthex.

Do one form of registration upon arrival, not both.

Only manually sign using the clipboard in if VicService QR code does not work on your phone.

You are required to fill in your current contact details upon entry. ie. Date, Time, Name, Contact number.

The Rosary will be recited in the Basilica prior to the 10am Weekday Mass - approximately 9.30am

Reconciliation will be held after the 10.00am Mass on a Saturday. (approximately 10.30am)

WE USE QR CODE TO REGISTER VISITS TO THE BASILICA - NO NEED TO PRE-BOOK YOUR PLACE.

The Victorian State Government requires us to use their QR code and Service Victoria app for registration of visits to the Basilica and Parish Centre.

We have the QR code displayed at various positions in the entry, around the Basilica and printed on the back page of our current Bulletin.  Otherwise if this scanning function is unavailable on your phone you may sign in using the contact sheets provided.

THOUGH THERE IS AN EASE IN RESTRICTIONS THE VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT STATES THAT EVERYONE MUST CHECK IN UPON ANY VISIT INSIDE THE BASILICA. THIS INCLUDES EVEN A SHORT VISIT TO OBSERVE THE BEAUTY & GRACE OF OUR BASILICA, OR PURCHASE A GIFT FROM THE PIETY STALL.

MASKS ARE REQUIRED TO BE WORN IN THE BASILICA, AND IT IS REQUIRED BY LAW THAT YOU CARRY A MASK WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES. (VIC STATE GOVERNMENT)

Eucharistic Celebration of Mass is recorded live for viewing on Youtube and uploaded by 8am on Sunday mornings. It will be titled eg. “6th Sunday of Easter – St Mary’s Parish, Geelong”

Note: the Mass heading as it changes each week – and will have 'St Mary’s Parish, Geelong' always in the full title – so you know you are in the right place. You can subscribe to the Youtube channel for ease in re-visiting.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Reconciliation  will be held after the 10.00am Mass on Saturdays in the Basilica - finishing at 11.00am. You must QR register your attendance, and wear a mask indoors. Please sanitize and 1.5m social distance.
