"Faith and Light gives to persons with an intellectual disability the possibility of being recognised as unique persons, and using their gifts and discovering the joy of friendship."
Faith and Light is a worldwide Christian community formed at Lourdes in 1971. Faith and Light communities enable people with a disability and their families, friends and other supporters to come together to share faith, food, fun, friendship and celebrate the gift of one another.
We hope to form a new Faith and Light community in Geelong, based at St Mary's Parish. Currently, we are working towards becoming an official part of the Faith and Life network, with the support and guidance of the regional Faith and Life leadership. Hence, for the time being, we are known as "Friends of Faith and Light Geelong".
The meetings are held from 1.30 pm to 4.00 pm in the Pioneer Room, St Mary's Parish Offices, 150 Yarra Street, Geelong. The Pioneer Room is located on the first floor and can be accessed by a lift, which is nearby Yarra Street end of the Parish Office building.
In the current circumstances regarding COVID, it is important that those who attend RSVP prior to the meetings.
To do so, or to find out more about our group, please contact the coordinator:
